Ventidio Basso Theatre
A rare example of Neoclassical architecture, the Ventidio Basso Theater was erected according to the design by Ireneo Aleandri, thanks to the enthusiasm of a group of music lovers. Completed in 1846, with some modifications by architect Carducci, it features a facade characterized by a portico with Doric columns. The atrium is adorned with allegorical figures representing the arts, sculpted by Giorgio Paci, who is also responsible for the decoration of the large hall, including the painted ceiling and the historical curtain, which has been created by the painter Ferdinando Cicconi. The structure is complemented by a foyer where works from the Civic Art Gallery have been displayed.
